Yarn Along: Announcement

So here is another project I’ve been working on! (very appropriate for the occasion: maternity T-Shirt from Ravelry.)

…which explains some of the secret knitting that has been going on. Because how does one spend the time waiting to ‘officially’ knit baby clothes? Just get started.

And that’s what I did: Getting started on soakers (thanks for the inspiration and tips, Amanda)..

… on to the owlie sleepsack (with enough yarn left over for a hat to match).

Last week’s Puerperium cardigan is finished but still waiting for the perfect buttons, so I will share it when it’s truly finished.

Meanwhile, I have cast on for this blanket, which is a perfect and easy project to keep in my bag for car rides, library visits, sunny days on park benches – and also perfect for using up leftover sock yarn.

I am reading Small Island. Set in post-war London, an English woman takes in Jamaican lodgers. Even though they have fought for Britain during the war, now they are less than welcome. In turn each main character tells their story, from before and during the war. While this book didn’t grip me straight away (as The Help did), I just realised I’m almost halfway through already!
So, reading along….

My little guy is ill at the moment, so there is a lot of cuddling on the sofa, knitting, and a lot of reading at the moment- but not my books!
