During this week’s shop (solo, because Kaya fell asleep in the car on the way, so the Mr stayed with him while I shopped. Since Kaya has stopped having naps we only ever need to go 2 minutes in the car and he is asleep. This time I didn’t mind in the least. ), I spotted some Cornish clotted cream.
So I thought it was about time I learned how to make scones for a proper English cream tea.
I found this recipe online; so quick and easy. Within half an hour or so we were ready to tuck in, and all you need is stuff from the pantry – flour, butter, milk and sugar. Yum.
We’ll definitely have a lot more scones from now on, such a lovely afternoon treat. It’ll be even better once it is a bit warmer and we can have it in the garden. I get hungry again just thinking about it!

SCONES!!! I love them sooooo much! Yumm, yumm, yumm… damn, 23:30h, a bit late to start to make them
And all the lovely visitors you had at the table, I had to laugh out loud when I realized all the ´little creatures Kaya has gathered for tea time, what a great chap he is!
Morgen ist auch noch ein Tag..
It’s alright to have his whole farm yard and car fleet on the table if it’s just tea and scones, but try and have breakfast sometimes… not easy to get everyone to move elsewhere!
My daughter gave me some English Clotted Cream a few months ago and I must say it did make all the difference when eating scones. It reminded me of a creamy butter…oh my!
It is lovely. Half is still left in our tub; time for more scones very soon!
Oh yum, my stomach is growling….
Yummy! Looks like a wonderful treat
Yummm Svenna! What a baker you are, and I too love Kaya’s little set-up at the table ; ) x
