Yarn Along

I finished last week’s pebble and was ready to cast on for some booties – but then I couldn’t find the pattern. So. I cast on for another pebble. I had it coming anyway, right?

I’m so glad I got to use all the colours; all that’s left of my little ball of Noro yarn is a bit of green that might finally turn into some part of those booties now that the needles are free.

Sorry for the stripey overload. I love the colours! (And I couldn’t decide on photos. There you go.)
The colourful yarn is Noro Yuzen, the other Sirdar Balmoral in Pheasant.
I still have to find the right buttons. First I have to find a new favourite button shop.
I do miss my old button lady.

Alright then, one more stripey picture!

I’m about two thirds into Birdsong and can’t wait to read what happens next.

Also, I ordered some yarn for that cardigan I was going to knit for myself a while back. That was Cascade Eco+ in Pacific. When it arrived, it was very turquoise. I thought about it for a while and then decided it was too bright for me so I sent it back in exchange for this one, Lake Chelan Heather (even prettier name as well), and I love this colourway.
But now it has gotten so very warm and wonderful.
I knit throughout the year and am not really put off by hot weather, but if I knit woollies then they have to be small. Lugging around a big adult-size project doesn’t sit so well with me right now, so I’ll just enjoy looking at the yarn until the next rainy day.

I love all of it!! the stripes, the new yarn colour! Do you think I (a very beginner knitter) could tackle a Pebble? I do love them and our Aussie winter starts on Friday, I would love to make one for my Mr 1…..

    • I think you’ll be fine; it’s knitted on straight needles flat, and all you need to do is knit, purl, and make the buttonholes. There is some grafting involved on one shoulder, but there are great tutorials online if you haven’t done it before. Good luck!

All the stripes look wonderful. I like that you were able to see all the colors and now you have two sweaters.

Birdsong is one of my favourite books!

    • A friend lent it to me, and I can’t put it down. Stephen just met with Isabelle again in Amiens and I can’t believe she didn’t tell him why she left!!!!!

Love the stripey vests!! And you got two out of that yarn, clever. Love your new replacement yarn. I agree, lugging around wool during a hot day is not fun.

  5. Beautiful… I don’t think it’s stripe overload at all!

Hey Svenna! Congratulations on your move and happy settling in to your new home, now that the hard work of moving is behind you : ) Must be a relief.
I love the way you broke up the Noro with a plain colour, very striking.
    I’m curious about the book……..x

I really like seeing all the sweet little stripes and seeing two makes it double the pleasure!
I knit year round too and really can’t see knitting not in my day no matter the weather!
Love the new colorway you ordered and it will look so pretty with your coloring.

Two pebbles in stripes! Love them. Will you keep both to use for your little one or give one away to a friend? Either way is nice.

    • I’m not sure yet – I tend to be making two of everything these days as my friend is expecting around the same time; but this is handwash – I’ll have to see how she feels about that first :)

Beautiful! (How could there ever be too many stripes!?) I have seen that pattern before, was hesitant, but will definitely put it on my list now!
