Strawberry picking

On Sunday we escaped the rainclouds that were gathering just above our house by going on a trip to a local Pick-Your-Own farm. The strawberries are out!
Picking strawberries must be one of the best ways to get distracted from a busy week, forget stress and worries, and disappear for a while in a deliciously sweet pink strawberry cloud.
Anyway, that’s how I felt!

And that was not even the end of it, because then we discovered the playground. With a real tractor, sandpit with diggers, slides, swings, rabbits… toddler heaven.
Although I must admit, all three of us had a great time on that playground!!

Now we only have to decide what to do with all our strawberries. Although, we might have eaten them all by the time we make up our minds…

What a beautiful u-pick field you have there! I love the playgound. Our strawberries are about done and I am already missing them.

  3. It’s blueberry season for us at a farm near our house. I love the end of May and into June to replenish and freeze for the year.

    • Oh yummy, I love blueberries!!! I meant to freeze some of our strawberries from last weekend, but I’m afraid they’re all gone. I guess we’ll have to go and pick some more soon!

These look so yummy! Our strawberry season won’t arrive until July or so…and then it’s pretty slim pickings. Enjoy your haul!

Wow! It is so cool how the plants are elevated – talk about making picking fun! We have strawberries in our garden but they never even make it into the house, let alone a recipe!
