Wax Resist Cards

Kaya and I made some more cards today – we still like to send cards to people every now and then (although Kaya prefers to send himself birthday cards these days. His birthday is in January. But that doesn’t really matter, does it?)… and we have a few birthdays (other people’s) coming up as well.

We started by drawing with wax crayons on small 8 x 11 cm white paper.
I did some, Kaya did some, then Kaya did some on mine, then Kaya built a tractor with his crayons.

When we had a good few drawings done, I mixed some blue water colour paint with a little water, ready for Kaya to paint over the drawings.

Now they are all dry, and we only need to glue them to our cards. And write cards. And stick them in the post. A certain someone can’t wait for that part!

Oh, and this is the tractor, in case you were wondering:

  1. love seeing little hands creating! i know i’m constantly finding drawings and paintings and the sheer volume is a bit overwhelming but they are cherished.

I have been saving the wee ones pictures to use as cards. I love the mixed mediums you are using and will have to do a little of that here. xx

I love the Stockmar crayons! We have the square ones and I love that they don’t break in little fingers.
We are so terrible at mailing things…my kids have some sadly neglected penpals….
