On Saturday, a quick trip to the shops for cream and chocolate turned into a three hour outing including balance-bike-riding, brave-downhill-whizzing, new-ways-exploring, spontaneous-friend-visiting – oh, and cream-and-chocolate-buying as well of course.
After all, we had to make a birthday cake for Daddy – which somehow took up most of the rest of the day.
The Mr doesn’t like birthdays, at least his own (remember last year’s secret one?).
But Kaya wouldn’t have any of it, and brought the presents to his bedside from the birthday table downstairs.
At just after 6 am.
And kindly unwrapped them for him while he was at it.
We had a full and wonderful rest of the day. A bit of shopping, a picnic in the sunshine, a trip to an aquarium, ice cream on the commons.
Now, with birthday calls and visitors finished, maybe settle down with just one more slice of cake and that new DVD, and enjoy the very last of this weekend..
