Yarn Along

The work on my Mama Vertebrae was temporarily suspended when I ran out of yarn last week, and had to wait until the husband’s day off yesterday to get another ball.
Of course they didn’t have the same dye lot anymore, so I bought one ball, kept my fingers crossed, and started thinking of plan b. But it seems like a good match; I can’t see the difference.
Now I am carefully dividing up the last metres of yarn to make the most of the last inches of each sleeve, wishing I had a fancy digital scale to help me measure the remaining yarn.

While I was waiting for the extra yarn, I cast on for the baby version of the pattern (free on ravelry here), using leftovers from the Pepita onesie – until I ran out of yarn here, too. At least I know my mum is sending me some more, so eventually this little cardie will have some sleeves too!

I am still reading Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier, although there is a ridiculous amount of books on my nightstand suddenly. After a trip to the library I am well stocked, and of course I couldn’t help but dip into several books at once – so no real progress on any of them.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is up to on  Ginny’s Yarn Along today..

I am so glad your yarn matched up, I know that feeling in the pit of your stomach waiting to see if it will work.
I have several books opened on my nightstand too. There are just so many great ones out there and not enough time to read them all!

I have the same problem with piles of books. And still going to the library and bringing more home.

  3. Oh what yummy yarn! Good luck with the sleeve shortages! 🙂 This week I’m sharing a sneak peek of the Sunday Sweater I’m test knitting for Ginny. Stop by if you have a moment!

Well done on the Mama Vertebrae – am sure it will be well used and well loved in the coming months 🙂

I am the same with books! Long queues with multiple ones being read at the same time!

  5. I’m sure you will love the sweater when you are done… can’t wait to see it. You look great, by the way!
