chestnuts? ♥ oh, I thought they were buckeyes…see I’m from Ohio, the Buckeye State! we collected acorns on a walk last night!!!

  4. Tracey says:

One day I am going to try a chestnut, they look interesting! Enjoy.

    • These are horse chestnuts, lovely for collecting, but not for eating. I tried some edible ones once, but they weren’t really my thing – although maybe I was just in the wrong place!

We call them conkers, and they make for a fun albeit a little dangerous game as well as a lovely roasted snack! I love this picture, mine was conker inspired too ;0)

    • We call them conkers too. We just love collecting them by the bucketful! 🙂

      • Adeola says:

Us too but then you end up with literally 100’s!! We got out the glue gun, some googly eyes and scraps of wool and made conker families, they are really cute next to the pine cone people. A nice quiet(ish) craft for when the bump is no longer a bump ;0)

I thought that they were buckeyes as well. My initial reaction was, honestly, “They have buckeyes over there?” The only chestnuts I see here are preserved. Live and learn. 🙂 Live and learn.
