This Moment

A Friday ritual inspired by SouleMama. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment to pause, savour and remember.

Tomorrow I am taking the boys (the little ones) to Germany to visit my family. As always, the day before setting off is manic. I used to be so organised… whatever happened?
Nowadays there is always, always still laundry drying when it should be in the suitcase. And I always forget to wash the things we actually need first, so I end up running the washing machine twice. And I can never find the socket adapters. Ever. And I end up eating apple pie straight from the packet instead to cheer me up.
But is also is exciting. Kaya deliberates about which cars and books to pack. He is grumpy because I packed mine and the baby’s things in the big suitcase, when he wanted the blue one. We have special snacks to make the journey a little sweeter. We will see grandparents, auntie, and most importantly the cousins. It’ll be the little bean’s first time away from home – but I’m sure he’ll get enough cuddles to distract him from that.

Kaya is in bed now (although I am sure he will wake up every half hour and ask if it is morning yet). Sandwiches are made. Except the clothes drying in front of the radiators, most things are packed. Soon the baby will be asleep enough for me to tend to the last few bits and pieces..

I’ll be popping in sometime next week to say “Hallo”.

A happy weekend to all of you..

p.s. I am going to be away until the 14th March – the shop will remain open but please be aware items won’t be shipped until 15th March!! There will be 10% off purchases made during this time to make up for it – just use coupon code HOLIDAY to take advantage of this.  Thank you..
