We are approaching normal days around here, finding our feet in new routines and old habits. We spent the weekend with friends, in rain showers and in our new home.

I found that the last few bits always take the longest. Packing up the last things; when you think you’re almost done, and then you realise it’ll take twice as long as you thought. Unpacking them, putting up that last shelf, moving pictures from nail to nail, finding a place to keep the spare blankets and the hoover when you don’t have a cupboard under the stairs any more…

For distraction, I had two unexpected phone calls in one day, from old, old friends I haven’t spoken to in years.
Hours well spent.
