Packing our bag

IMG_0030

Kaya has been squeezing his head and one arm through one of the straps of his rucksack, to wear it messenger style. “Like the big children!”.
Okay, twist my arm, time for a new bag I reckoned.
I had the baby cord hanging around my cupboard, waiting to become a little pair of trousers – but this was a bit more urgent.
Kaya chose the stripey binding, and the lining. Wait for it:

One happy bunny.
And another one:

Pattern: Messenger Bag (the little version) from Oliver + S Little Things to Sew
A really sweet pattern, and despite its length and amount of little bits and pieces, not as complicated as I had feared. I couldn’t find the right kind of strap adjusters, and because we were in a hurry, I just measured the straps out for Kaya’s size.
Be sure to make bias binding your new best friend. If it isn’t, it will be after this project!

Now, we’ll be packing this bag and some others, and be away for a week.
The shop will remain open, but any orders placed won’t be posted until Wednesday 31st July. Thank you!

Nice! I have been put off making this bag because it looked complicated, will have to give it a go.
