Birthdays, Anniversaries, and a Giveaway

Sorry about my absence this weekend – this past weekend was oh so full, and by Sunday evening all I could do was plop myself down on the sofa with leftover chocolate cake and a bit of knitting!

On Saturday I turned 30 – the first time that a birthday felt like a bit of a big thing to me.
I suppose because 30 sounds so grown-up. Serious stuff, being 30. But then my mum reminded me a while ago that, with two children, I should feel grown-up. Maybe so.

Also, few weeks ago at the end of September, my third blogiversary, as well as the third anniversary of the shop opening went by unmarked.

So you see, I’ve been thinking about numbers. It’s now been ten years since I came to England and met my husband, a whole third of my life that I have spent away from my home country.

My German heart rejoices in how neatly all those 3s and 10s fit together this year!

And because giving things is at least as much fun as receiving, and because without you all I wouldn’t be here today, I’d love for you to help me mark these occasions!
So, to celebrate I thought I’ll do it threefold:

Firstly, I would like to give away a little custom gnome. Up there it is, all bare and waiting. The winner can choose something like the ones I have sold in the shop (I’ll add some more pictures below), or come up with a brand new idea – this little gnome will be made to order.
Just leave a comment for your name to be entered into the bucket. And maybe tell me what sort of gnome you would wish for if you won!
A winner will be randomly chosen on November 16th, and please allow a few days for your gnome to then be ready to ship.

Secondly, I will randomly choose two runners up from the commenters (is that a word?) who are going to receive a surprise gift. A bit like a birthday, right?

And thirdly, I will offer 15% off everything in the shop for the rest of the month, with the coupon code THIRTY15, to be entered at checkout.

*(Just to warn you, I will be away for a week from Friday, which is also why I am not going to draw the giveaway winners until the 16th. There will be no shipping between 8th and 15th November.)
After all this, I shall leave you with a bit of gnome inspiration. You might recognise them; they are the most recent ones I made. Which one is your favourite? Or are have you got something else entirely in mind for your ideal gnome?

Edit: Giveaway entended until Friday 22nd November! ๐Ÿ™‚

Edit 22/11/13: Comments are now closed.

Here are the winners: One Custom Gnome is going to: 27 – Donna! Congratulations! I’ll be sending you an email shortly!

Runners up are: Lee and Erin. Well done guys.

Thank you all so much for entering and your wonderful comments, you all are so much appreciated.

Remember, the 15% off everything in the shop are still valid until next Saturday, 30th November. Just enter the coupon code THIRTY15 at checkout.

    Happy birthday!

I do love the gnomes, I don’t think I could pick one, each is so sweet. IF I win, why don’t you surprise me?

They remind me of the peg dolls my grandmother used to make out of wooden clothes pins – she would dress them in bits of fabric and felt, and they are very sweet. I have a couple of them that she left to me, and your gnomes would look adorable in the cabinet with them. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just image what the next 3 years will bring- you have achieved so much over this last 3 years & brought so much joy to my email inbox. You have a very special talent that I wholeheartedly appreciate. I would melt with happiness if a snowdrop gnome found it’s way to my kitchen windowsill. I have just planted a whole bunch of actual snowdrops in the trees opposite my house.
